The School of Engineering is one of four schools within Jönköping
University. We offer attractive technical education at undergraduate and
graduate levels and conduct advanced research in several technological areas.

The department of Industrial product development, production and design
conducts education and research in areas such as product development,
production development and industrial design. The department is responsible
for five educational programs at Campus in Jönköping. In addition, the
department is responsible for two education programs in Nässjö and Värnamo.
The department has a strong engagement in the development of research and
education within Knowledge Intensive Product Realisation which is a strategic
area at Jönköping University.
The department of Industrial Product Development, Production and Design is
looking for a resource in Machine design with focus on Computational
Mechanics, Optimization, CAD and Mechanical design, applications will be
handled on an ongoing basis.
The work will mainly include teaching and research. Teaching is initially the
largest work assignment and will take place on basic and advanced level in
mechanical engineering at the department of Industrial product development,
production and design (PPD). Typical topics/courses relevant for the
teaching are FEM, CAD, Computational Mechanics, Optimization, Programming,
Product development, Mechanical design or similar. Supervision of thesis work
is also in focus. Minor teaching at the educational programs in Campus Nässjö
or Campus Värnamo can be relevant depending on competence of applicant. Work
with course administration is also relevant for this position.
The research efforts will mainly be linked to research projects at the PPD
department. Other research initiatives are set on the needs of the business,
operations and the departments based on competence and qualification. Research
takes place mainly in collaboration with industry.
We are looking for you who have a doctoral degree in Machine Design, Materials
and Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Product Development or the
equivalent. You have knowledge and experience of Solidworks and/or CATIA.
Strong programming skills and Matlab skills is a merit as well as knowledge
and previous work with Production Preparation.
Driving license for car (at least B-level in Sweden) is a requirement to be
able to carry out research together with industry and to be able to travel to
