Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
The University of the Pacific, Department of Health and Exercise Science seeks applicants to fill two (2) full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor positions in Exercise Science scheduled to begin Fall semester of 2024.
The successful candidates are expected to teach and conduct original research in their area of expertise, assist in program development, and engage in professional, departmental, and university activities. Main responsibilities:
Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of successful teaching at the college level, demonstrated ability to successfully teach a diverse student body; and/or who have a demonstrated ability to infuse diversity into their teaching, an active research agenda, a record of scholarly publication, and participation in professional organizations.
The College of the Pacific is hiring across multiple fields and seeks to bring in a cohort of new faculty to build upon and elevate our existing interdisciplinary focus areas: Environment and sustainability; Law and policy; Physical and mental health and wellness; Communications, art and design. The successful candidate in Health and Exercise Sciences will be able to collaborate with colleagues to further develop student-centered programs in one or more of those interdisciplinary areas. Our faculty are dedicated teachers, mentors and advisors who value collaboration and who develop innovative pedagogies to enhance student learning in addition to engaging actively in scholarship and service. The College is conducting searches for tenure-track assistant professors in Biological Sciences; Communication. Health and Exercise Sciences; Media X (multimedia design and production); Psychology; and Sociology. We seek to bring in a strong cohort of dynamic colleagues to join our current faculty in building on our existing strengths and developing programs, curricula and learning experiences that prepare our students for success.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work schedule is dependent on department need.
Hiring Range $72,000 - $75,000 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Special Instructions
