Assistant Professor of English, 19th Century British Literature

Position Description

We invite applications for an Assistant Professor of English in 19th Century British Literature, a

full-time, tenure-track position to begin August 2022. This faculty member will be responsible

for teaching British literature from the long 19th century, speech, composition, and literature,

according to department practice and policy; conducting scholarly/creative research sufficient for tenure and advancement; and engaging in appropriate service. A Ph.D. in English with a

specialization in 19th Century British Literature by the appointment date is required. The ability

to teach composition and evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential are also required. Preference may be given to candidates with a subspecialty in pedagogy and/or film studies. The salary is contingent upon qualifications, experience, and needs of the university.
