The Department of Business in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics to begin in August 2023. The Department of Business is a diverse and growing department serving over 200 undergraduate students majoring in Business Administration (with six specialized concentrations and four minors), Sport and Recreation Management (with two specialized concentrations), and interdisciplinary majors in Marine Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability & Business. This position will directly support our Business Administration major and Economics minor.

    Responsibilities

    The department seeks candidates to teach introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics classes and upper-level undergraduate economics courses. This position typically teaches the equivalent of 9 credits per semester. The candidate is expected to develop an active, independent research program that results in peer-reviewed publications. The candidate will also participate in curricular assessment at all levels; academic advising; recruiting; and service to the school, college, and university.

    Qualifications

    A Ph.D. in economics or a relevant field is required. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and have a record of scholarly activity. Preference will be given to candidates who have research and teaching interests in sustainable business, health economics, or environmental economics.
