The Anthropology Department in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public
Affairs at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure track
assistant professor of cultural anthropology. We are looking for expertise in
environmental concerns and environmental justice; energy and infrastructure;
extraction of natural resources; health, technology and medicine; and
multispecies relations. We would like to emphasize the health and medical
anthropology aspects of this search to support the minor and to engage with
other health researchers in the school. Teaching load is 2 courses per term.
Annual teaching load will include introductory cultural anthropology class.
Area focus is open to South Asia and Latin America/Caribbean, as well as
oceanic intersections in the Indian Ocean and/or Atlantic World.
Ph.D, in Anthropology is expected at time of appointment.
Job Specific Qualifications
Cultural Anthropologist. We are looking for expertise in environmental

The scholar will be expected to teach two courses per semester, maintain an
active research program and serve on departmental and other committees.
