Job Description:

The Psychology Department at Fairfield University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in C linical Psychology beginning Fall 2022. Candidates with clinical expertise and research interests in culture-related issues in psychopathology or psychotherapy are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, and they must demonstrate the potential for developing an active research program that involves undergraduates. The teaching load is three undergraduate courses each semester. Courses taught would include Psychopathology & Clinical Science, Theories of Psychotherapy, and Research Methods, as well as courses in the candidate's area of specialization. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach courses through a gender- or culture-focused lens, as well as those who can teach General Psychology and/or Statistics.

Requirements:

Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, but candidates who expect their degrees by Fall 2022 will also be considered.

Additional Information:

The department consists of eleven full-time faculty representing a range of specialties and is housed in a spacious, well-equipped facility in the Bannow Science Center. Psychology is one of the largest majors in the College of Arts & Science. There is a vibrant culture of undergraduate student-faculty research and a growing institutional emphasis on the health sciences. Faculty routinely present at regional, national, and international conferences, frequently with undergraduate students as co-authors. The salary and benefits for the position are highly competitive.
