The Department of Animal Physiology and Immunology (Institute of Experimental Biology) at the Faculty of Science of MU is a modern, fully equipped workplace where individual research groups are engaged in research at all levels - from molecules and cells through invertebrates to humans; from basic research to the application of results in human and veterinary medicine. The mission of Fabian Lab is to understand fundamental processes underlying the development and maintenance of vertebrate organs while supporting a scientifically excellent and equitable environment for trainees to thrive.

Job Description

Key Duties:

  • Ensuring research, development and innovation, in particular by initiating and leading research groups
  • Activities aimed at securing funding for research, development and innovation from third parties. Submission of grant applications, implementation of contractual cooperation, etc.
  • Publication activities in prestigious journals and other forms of communication of research, development and innovation results
  • Active participation in the preparation and implementation of student education in Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree programmes at the Faculty of Science
  • Active participation in domestic and foreign scientific conferences, presentation of research results at conferences and other professional meetings in the country and abroad
  • Creation of study materials for educational purposes
  • Participation in the dissemination of knowledge in the field of pharmacy to the general public
  • Skills and Qualifications

    The applicant must have:

  • Completed university education in a doctoral program (Ph.D.) in immunology or a related field
  • Ability to work independently as a teacher and scientist
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Experience of working in a foreign laboratory
  • Excellent publication record, regular publications in reputable impacted journals
  • Reputation in own research field, active membership in professional organizations
  • Regular active participation in international conferences and professional seminars
  • Ability to apply and solve national and international grant projects
  • Active cooperation with Czech and foreign experts in the field
  • Active knowledge of Czech language. In applicants that are not native speakers is required Czech language exam certificate - level CCE-C2

  • Organizational skills, experience in leading a work team
