The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, announces a competition for a full-time position Assistant Professor at the Department of Administrative Studies and Administrative Law

The Department of Administrative Studíes and Administrative Law is a department of the Faculty of Law MU, which carries out educational and scientific research activities in both areas, i.e. administrative law and traditionally also administrative science. In the field of teaching, it mainly provides teaching of compulsory subjects in the whole scope of administrative law, i.e. its substantive and procedural part, especially in the Master's programme Law and Legal Science, the Follow-up Master's studies. Public Administration and also in undergraduate programmes, as well as teaching a number of compulsory elective courses focused on particular areas or topics falling within the framework of administrative law in the national and European environment, and also in the field of administrative science. The members of the department focus on general issues of administrative law, in its substantive dimension, as well as selected branches of public administration, or special parts of administrative law; they simultaneously examine the issue of administrative process and judicial review of public administration, also in a current or developmental perspective. The topics examined include the protection of subjective rights in public administration, the issue of abuse of rights in public law, types of action in administrative justice, the issue of cassation complaints, general principles of liability for harm in the exercise of public authority, as well as liability for harm caused by atypical forms of exercise of public authority, issues of possible simplification of administrative proceedings, current issues of public construction law, and others.

Your job will include:

- participation in the teaching of subjects implemented at the workplace (in particular substantive administrative law - general and special part, administrative procedural law, as well as selected topics in the field of administrative science),

- preparation of study and teaching materials, including electronic ones,

- involvement in research activities, including participation in publications,

- participation in the organizational support of research and teaching activities, including related

administration.

We require:

- Master's degree in Law from a Faculty of Law,

- Ph.D. degree,

- qualified interest in administrative law and public administration,

- pedagogical focus on administrative law,

- pedagogical aptitude; practical teaching experience,

- prerequisites for independent scientific research activities,

- ability to teach and publish in Czech and English, knowledge of German would be an advantage,

- publication activity in the field of administrative law, or its broader foundations and contexts, presentation of the three most important scientific publications; information on the citation index,

- membership in field related important Czech and foreign organizations is an advantage,

- moral integrity.
