Assistant Professor

We are looking for a colleague at the Department of Czech Language for the position of assistant professor with a focus on computational linguistics and contemporary Czech language.

MAIN JOB CONTENT

Pedagogical

  • participation in conducting seminars and lectures or other forms of teaching focused on NLP, programming and the Czech language, in bachelor's, master's or doctoral study programs as well as lifelong learning programs
  • supervising, consulting or reviewing bachelor's and diploma theses; in exceptional cases, a supervisor or consultant in doctoral study programs
  • Research

    Participation in the department's research, development and innovation activities, in particular:

  • independent research and development, the publication of results in peer- reviewed journals indexed in Web of Science or SCOPUS databases, scientific monographs or peer-reviewed post-conference proceedings
  • participation in grant projects of the workplace, submission of own projects to national and international providers
  • active participation in domestic / foreign scientific conferences and professional meetings with presentations of the results of own research
  • Other activities

  • participation in the administration of research and teaching activities
  • popularisation of science

    Candidate requirements:

  • completed university education with a doctoral degree in linguistics and related fields (computational linguistics, Czech language, general linguistics, etc.)
  • publications (studies in peer-reviewed journals, appearances at international forums, software, etc.)
  • professional focus on computer linguistics and the Czech language
  • experience with grant projects (principal investigator or team member)
  • results at an international level (contributions at international conferences and scientific publications in English)
  • knowledge of Czech at the C2 level
  • knowledge of English at the B2 level (or higher)
  • Specific Requirements

    Requirements related to job content:

  • a working knowledge of Python and JavaScript (plus the Angular framework)
  • experience with markup languages HTML, CSS, CQL, knowledge of LaTex
  • diligence, responsibility, reliability, patience and friendliness when working with people
  • Additional qualifications

  • experience with the university environment is an asset
