The political science program invites applications for one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Latin American politics, beginning Fall 2022. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or service has prepared them to contribute to our shared commitment to diversity and excellence. An active research agenda in the field and engagement in service at the institution will be expected of the candidate who joins our department. Given the institution's strong emphasis on diversity and inclusive excellence, candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups and those individuals with a history and commitment to mentoring marginalized populations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Required : Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in political science from a regionally-accredited institution by the time of employment.

Preferred : Candidates will demonstrate an active research agenda focusing on Latin American Politics; the use of teaching methods that promote participation and engagement of a diverse range of students, particularly those with marginalized identities; experience working with students from a diverse background; the potential for an active service life within and outside of the university; and the ability to teach across multiple course delivery modes. Candidates will be able to develop needed new courses in Latin American politics.
