Position Summary:The UAA College of Health, Dietetics & Nutrition Department within the School of Allied Health is searching applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Dietetics & Nutrition. We are looking for an individual who will work in a collaborative/interdisciplinary teaching environment in the delivery of Allied Health courses within the UAA Dietetic & Nutrition program. The faculty member appointed to this position will provide didactic education to Allied Health students with an emphasis on Dietetic & Nutrition related courses.
Duties:100● Teaching courses including, but not limited to: normal nutrition, sports nutrition, advanced nutrition, and nutrient metabolism, among other potential graduate and undergraduate courses. ● Chair and committee member for graduate student research projects. ● Directing student learning and assessing student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains. ● Additional duties include course revision, academic assessment, curriculum improvement, text evaluation, academic advising, program development and University committee participation.Essential

Position Summary: The University of Alaska Anchorage, School of Allied Health seeks an individual who will work in a collaborative/interdisciplinary teaching environment in the delivery of Allied Health courses within the UAA Dietetic & Nutrition programs. The faculty member appointed to this position will provide didactic education to Allied Health students with an emphasis on Dietetic & Nutrition related courses. The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials: RDN. This position supports the University of Alaska bipartite mission of performing teaching and service.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience in foodservice, clinical nutrition, ambulatory care, or closely related area.
Commitment to student-centered learning, student engagement, and teaching excellence.
Leading or working in a diverse workforce in a multi-cultural setting.
Knowledge of current Dietetic & Nutrition scope of practice.
Commitment to and the ability to work effectively within the scope of the College of Health mission and to work with a diverse student and staff population.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Computer literacy.
Knowledge of contemporary curricular content for the education of the Dietetic & Nutrition.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' recent experience working as an RDN.
Teaching experience in college-level Dietetics and Nutrition courses with a commitment to student-centered learning, student engagement, and teaching excellence.
Documented evidence of successful use of instructional technologies and ability to communicate effectively as a teacher.
Experience leading or working in a diverse workforce in a multi-cultural setting.
Experience in student evaluation and outcomes assessment.

Salary will be based upon level of applicable academic preparation and experience.
