Assistant Manager / Officer (Project Management and Development Planning)

The University is seeking a dynamic, focused professional in build environment
to join the Estates Office.
Responsibilities:
Play a key role in carrying out project management and development
planning duties for the implementation of the University's capital
projects, as well as alteration, addition and improvement works that often
require inhouse design involvement;
Assist the Project Management and Development Planning Section in carrying
out project management duties for the execution of capital and non-capital
work contracts for the University;
Liaise with end-user departments to understand their spatial needs for
project delivery;
Represent the Estates Office in communicating with government departments,
statutory bodies, consultants and other outside bodies on matters relating
to project execution and campus planning and development;
Carry out space planning and feasibility studies for development or
alteration; and
Spearhead the preparation of design presentation including drawings,
rendering and data visualisation as well as production of working drawing,
specifications, tender documents and other project-control documents for
in-house campus projects.
Requirements:
A recognised degree in Architectural studies, Building Surveying or a
related discipline with at least eight years of post-qualification
relevant work experience (preferably in a tertiary institution);
A full member of HKIA, HKIS or equivalent preferred;
Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese
and proficiency in computer applications, including AutoCAD, Photoshop and
SketchUp, with Revit being an advantage; and
The ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic and changing
environment with a service-orientated mindset and positive manner to
communicate with others.
Applicants with less relevant experience maybe considered for the post of
Officer (Project Management and Development Planning).
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.
Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual
agreement and availability of funding.
Shortlisted candidates are required to sit for a written test.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
