Assistant Manager (Media Relations) (at the rank of Executive Officer) (two posts) in the Communications and Public Affairs Office of the Registry (Ref.: 523689) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
The Communications and Public Affairs Office (CPAO) of the Registry of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) enhances HKU's reputation through branding, events, digital communications, media relations, and more. The office is also responsible for University events and ceremonies, publications, both external and internal communications, crisis management and community engagement. CPAO is currently elevating and expanding its scope of services. We are looking for talented candidates to join the team.
The key responsibilities of the Assistant Manager (Media Relations) are to:
Requirements:
good news sense, know how to find information, conduct research, and write up compelling stories, including news analysis, human stories and interviews;
at least four to six years of relevant experience;
experience in higher education and news reporting, especially on issues related to education, is a plus; and
willingness to work outside regular work hours and on duty roster.
Candidates should provide samples of writing copies and work that can show their journalistic and writing skills. Please also provide current salary and expected salary.
Compensation and Benefits:
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in additional to annual leave and medical benefits.
