Assistant Manager (Events and Marketing) (at the rank of Executive
Officer) in the Communications and Public Affairs Office of the Registry
(Ref.: 523684) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term
basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement
benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of
renewal)
The Communications and Public Affairs Office (CPAO) of the Registry of the
University of Hong Kong (HKU) enhances HKU's reputation through branding,
events, digital communications, media relations, and more. The office is also
responsible for University events and ceremonies, publications, both external
and internal communications, crisis management and community engagement. CPAO
is currently elevating and expanding its scope of services. We are looking for
talented candidates to join the team.
The key responsibilities of the Assistant Manager (Events and Marketing)
are to:
Support the Assistant Director and Senior Manager/Manager in the
development and execution of effective events, marketing strategy and
community engagement plans;
formulate and implement effective events, marketing strategy and community
engagement plans to promote University initiatives;
plan, co-ordinate and manage a wide range of University events, including
Congregation, Honorary University Fellowships, Honorary Degree,
ceremonies, lectures and forums, awards presentations, corporate visits,
and others;
develop and execute the publicity plans for the events;
engage vendors to prepare events marketing materials, including brochures,
booklets, invitations, events video highlights etc.;
plan and coordinate project schedules, manage procurement processes to
commission third-party service providers for various University
initiatives;
oversee and manage third-party filming on campus; and
perform any other ad-hoc duties (including projects) that may arise from
time to time.
Requirements:
a good University's degree in Marketing, Communications or a relevant
discipline;
a minimum of five years' experience in events management or marketing;
an excellent command of English and Chinese;
a good command of PC applications, including MS Word, Excel and
PowerPoint;
effective communication and presentation skills for liaison with internal
Faculties and vendors;
the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize different assignments
to meet deadlines;
excellent time management and resource planning skills;
the ability to manage fast-moving projects and collaborate with internal
and external cross-functional teams in a complicated environment;
self-motivated and able to work under pressure;
value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to
provide excellent service;
experience in Higher Education and Service sectors is a plus;
excellent command of web technologies, social media platform trends, data
analytics for marketing; and
willingness to work outside regular work hours and on duty roster.
Compensation and Benefits:
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
