Position Title Assistant Instructor - Care About Childcare (CAC) (Part time, Variable Hours)

Position Category Staff - Part-Time (Variable Hour) Summary

Teaches community early childhood professionals, parent and partners using the state of Utah career ladder training curriculum. Follows the schedule generated and updated by CAC-UVU training coordinator.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent plus the required certifications and/or training required in field of specialty. Must meet requirements to be an advanced level instructor through URPD/OCC including, Level 9 or higher on Utah's Career Ladder, two years of paid professional experience working directly with children, minimum of six months experience of direct responsibility for professional development of adults, and demonstrated knowledge of adult learning and training. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Broad working knowledge of and experience in the early childhood professional field.
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles.
  • Teaching skills which include how to present the curriculum using clear and understandable methods.
  • Technology and computer skills such as using the classroom projector, computer, and online platforms.
  • Ability to teach adults in an engaging way while maintaining class control.
  • Ability and willingness to follow the state curriculum and follow CAC teaching procedures.
  • Ability to communicate to a diverse group in a professional manner.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    Three credit college courses for infant development, birth – 3 years or Current Infant and Toddler CDA. Ability to communicate verbally and writing in English and Spanish.

    Physical Requirements

    Requires sitting, walking, hearing, talking, seeing, fine hand manipulation and ability to lift 25 lbs.

    Benefits Summary

    You may be eligible for a 3 credit hour or 1 class tuition waiver after 6 consecutive months of employment and a minimum of 475 hours worked. Dependents do not qualify for a waiver.

    FLSA Non-Exempt Pay Range $12.54 - $15.42 per hour
