Provides overall direction and support for the operation of residential areas housing 1,120- 1,200 residents, 4-5 Hall Directors and a student staff of 34-38 Resident Assistants and 30 student desk workers. Provides direction for the development of a positive community which includes; programs/activities, conduct, student support and administrative responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Work with Hall Directors & student staff in the development of positive community development. Administrative support. Train, supervise, support and help select Hall Directors and Resident Assistants. Respond to emergencies that happen after hours in the halls (student and building issues). Be available to Hall Directors to respond to emergencies (alternate between the 2-3 Assistant Directors). Manages department duty schedules for Hall Directors and Resident Assistants. Advise/direct department committees: Residence Hall Association, Tech Wars, educational programming, department service programs, and managing the staff programming office. Attend hall programs provided by the hall staff. Manages the camp/conference program in the summer including typically a Hall Director as conference manager, other Hall Directors in the halls that have conferences, and 8 to 10 conference assistants. Teach RA class.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Two years of experience as a full-time Hall Director or Assistant Coordinator and hall leadership experience, e.g., Resident Assistant, Senor RA, Residence Hall Association President. Ability to communicate and work well with others. Basic understanding of Student Development.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree from an accredited institution.

Work Hours

Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. On-call hours after 4:30 p.m.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD45
