Job Summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the assistant director for outbound sales and marketing. This position will oversee the development, coordination and implementation of marketing plans and sales campaigns for UTA athletics. The successful candidate will be a key team player in building revenue generation, game day atmosphere, branding and community/campus outreach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all assignments from the director of outbound sales with little or no supervision including but not limited to: In conjunction with director of outbound sales, support with the coordination of the outbound ticket sales program and development and growth of group sales campaigns.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of women's basketball and women's volleyball education day sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Direct all sales and marketing efforts for UTA softball.
  • Working knowledge of sales platforms such as fevo and salesforce to create group offers and drive revenue.
  • In conjunction with the director of outbound sales, recruit, train and manage day-to-day responsibilities of student interns.
  • Assist in compiling season wrap-ups for various sports, to include attendance analysis, promotion details, ticket promos and expenses. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing or a related field. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; six individual programs with individual needs (resource allocation).
  • Problem solver under pressure and in challenging circumstances.
  • An interest in developing the capabilities of other people; patience in teaching and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate student workers to feel part of a team and make a significant contribution.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Independent worker, self-starter. Able to create strong relationships (special events, ticket office, communications, corporate partners, etc.).
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in athletic marketing, sales with a Division I Intercollegiate, professional sport organization, or the equivalent experience.
  • Experience in market research with students, season ticket holders, and general public, or corporate partners.

    Skilled in using social media platforms. Ability to always greet clients/fans in a polite, courteous, and helpful manner. Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators and student athletes. Ability to work successfully independently and as a member of a team. Ability to establish program goals and objectives that support a strategic plan. Ability to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
