The Office of Undergraduate Admissions serves to recruit and enroll students to the University of New England for a variety of undergraduate programs. With a primary concentration on prospective students, the office focuses on generating interest in UNE, fostering and sustaining relationships with students and families and introducing them to the the campus community.
The Assistant Director is a key position in the functionality of the Admissions Office. The Assistant Director participates fully in shared admissions office functions such as recruitment travel to high school visits, college fairs, and panels, holistically review admissions applications, connect with prospective students and families in-person or virtually, and attend admissions recruitment and yield events. Additionally, the position coordinates one or more specialized functions of the Admissions Office; has direct supervision over admissions counselors; and assists the Associate Director with general department management.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee one or more specialized admissions functions, which may include – but may not necessarily be limited to — the following:
Assist the Associate Director with department administrative tasks and functions, including development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of operating policies, procedures, forms, systems; staff hiring, training and supervision; preparation of regular and special reports; and the like.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, with a master's degree desirable, plus four to six years of relevant experience in higher education administration, including at least two years of admissions experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
