Position Assistant Director of the Center for Spirituality

Job Category Administrator/Management Job Description

The Assistant Director works with the Director of the Center for Spirituality in the designing, implementation, and coordination of Center for Spirituality programs, events, and other activities. In addition to supporting the academic initiatives of the CFS, the Assistant Director also serves in an administrative support role through managing the CFS office.

Job Duties Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in theology, spirituality, or a related field (MA, MDiv, MTS, etc.) is required (a Doctoral Degree in one of these fields is preferred)
  • Familiarity with Catholic educational and institutional issues
  • A record of scholarly and or pastoral work in the area of feminist theology, women in the church, and promoting conversations about women's leadership in the Catholic Church
  • Experience with and comfort in facilitating academic discussions and programs, and working with faculty, staff, and administration colleagues
  • Experience with grant writing and administration
  • Experience with conference planning, organization, and coordination
  • Experience and commitment to collaborative work
  • Excellent communication skills and competence in basic office technologies (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, etc.)
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Holy Cross charism and spirituality;
  • Demonstrable expertise as a scholar or practitioner of one or more Christian spiritual traditions;
  • Experience working in Catholic higher education;
  • Experience collaborating with faculty and staff at the college or university level;
  • Experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate students;
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate level (commensurate with the academic qualifications of the candidate);
