Job Description:

Bellarmine University is seeking an Assistant Director of Stewardship to work closely with colleagues in the Development and Alumni Relations office. The Assistant Director of Stewardship will help manage Bellarmine's comprehensive and strategic stewardship program.

In this role, the Assistant Director of Stewardship will:

  • Provide reporting on the university's endowed funds
  • Help nurture donor relationships through various milestone acknowledgements
  • Support unique donor experiences through personalized recognition, events, and storytelling
  • Partner with colleagues to support the creation of content for digital and print communication opportunities to connect with donors
  • Oversee the editing process, and supervise research, drafting, and mailing of personalized and timely stewardship reports to donors on endowed and current use funds
  • Track donor membership in Bellarmine's various giving societies
  • Communicate with the Office of Financial Aid to assure appropriate students are matched to Bellarmine's named scholarship/fellowship funds, prepare student award letters, and track and mail student thank you letters
  • Oversee the management of data recorded regarding stewardship reporting responsibilities and reporting information in the alumni/donor data base
  • Identify and resolve any issues related to the administration of reporting funds
  • Lead university stewardship events, e.g. Heritage Society
  • Partner with development officers on the development of gift proposals and other tools developed to engage major and principal gift donors and prospects in philanthropic opportunities
  • Oversee a master stewardship calendar and manage information tracking process to ensure that all gifts requiring personalized acknowledgement and stewardship receive it in a timely manner
  • Provide support for the Board of Overseers

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Self-motivated and desire to work individually and as a team for the betterment of the University as a whole.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills for the engagement, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build relationships across diverse populations and constituencies.
  • Ability to work across multiple technology platforms and systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of Development experience or related experience in sales, marketing, or customer service
