Bryant University seeks an Assistant Director of Digital Media to join the growing University Marketing and Communication team.

The Assistant Director of Digital Media works with the Associate Director of Content Marketing, and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to develop digital strategies to engage key audiences through various web-based platforms, video development, and digital assets to analyze and measure our digital efforts.

The Assistant Director develops, deploys, and manages content for institutional social media channels to maximize effective stakeholder engagement. Works across campus to coordinate strategies and is a key communicator in crisis.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Content Marketing.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that measurably increases engagement and reach among prospective students, current students, alumni, and other constituencies and promotes the schools' strengths and research accomplishments aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Create and curate shareable content determining which platform is best suited for each piece of content;
  • Build and manage social media profiles and presence maintaining brand consistency across platforms;
  • Assess SEO configurations
  • Integrate digital content across all our platforms.
  • Use data-driven analytics to adjust tactics as needed constantly updating team members on the impact of digital marketing.
  • Work under broad general direction following established policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and recommend modifications to social media policies, develop operational procedures, and lead the social media council for Bryant
  • Monitor and moderate online discussions on social media platforms. Respond appropriately to questions and comments posted to social media accounts.
  • Establish digital marketing targets.
  • Analyze engagement, and interactions across platforms. Work with other University departments as necessary to gather web analytics for assessing the success of social media and web activities.
  • Use data and analytics to produce monthly and quarterly performance reports and make recommendations for improvement and increasing engagement.

    Qualifications

    This position is best filled by an individual with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in communications or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing successful social-media engagement through content creation and curation. The candidate must have extensive experience in researching, interpreting and applying trends and best practices to enhance social media and website engagement as well as experience working with video and digital visual elements, photography, and graphics to complement editorial content, web, and social media. They will have demonstrated experience in researching, writing, editing, and proofing diverse editorial content, sometimes within highly condensed timeframes; ability to understand issues from a broad, strategic perspective. The ability to effectively participate in comprehensive emergency-communications efforts is important as is the ability to use market research to enhance the impact of digital content including web communications, podcasts, and social media.
