Villanova University has embarked on a 10-year strategic plan, Rooted.
Restless., with the goal of enhancing the Augustinian Catholic living and
learning experience for all members of our community. University Advancement
is seeking exceptional talent to join our mission-driven team working together
toward our shared vision for Villanova, fueled by the generosity of the
University's philanthropic supporters as we prepare for Villanova's next
comprehensive capital campaign.
The Villanova University Annual Giving team is seeking an innovative and
detail-oriented Assistant Director of Digital Fundraising to assist in
optimizing the use of digital channels in all aspects of fundraising, with a
specific emphasis on peer-to-peer advocacy and crowdfunding. Success in this
position will require drawing and acting upon insights from internal data as
well as applying best practices from higher education and marketing
institutions.
The Assistant Director of Digital Fundraising will collaborate with teams
across University Advancement to support department-specific and University-
wide initiatives, including technology integrations, prospect research and
data integrity. As the main liaison for Villanova's crowdfunding platform, the
individual in this position will also work with partners across campus to
fulfill fundraising needs and advance their strategic goals.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Fundraising, the Assistant
Director of Digital Fundraising will support the achievement of goals tied to
the University's Rooted. Restless. strategic plan. As such, we are seeking a
team member who is passionate about volunteer management, thinks critically
and creatively, translates data into actionable insights, and works diligently
to advance and support Villanova's mission and values as a diverse and
inclusive institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Digital Strategies for Solicitation & Stewardship: Assist in
the identification and creation of segments for digital campaigns. In
collaboration with the Associate Director of Digital Fundraising and
University Advancement Communications, support content development for
digital campaigns, including emails, social media and web forms or pages.
Synthesize and analyze campaign data from a variety of sources, including
Google Analytics, email marketing platforms, solicitation reports and
activity reports, with the goal to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns
and develop insights for future planning and decision-making. Support
other Annual Giving team members on digital initiatives related to student
philanthropy, tentpole events or distinct designations. Provide support
throughout the planning and execution of 1842 Day, Villanova's Day of
Giving, with a specific focus on volunteer engagement and digital
communications.
Peer-to-Peer Advocacy : Recruit, train and equip volunteer advocates
who inspire support for Villanova. Utilize existing and expanding
technology to best prepare volunteers for success. Identify and integrate
best practices in volunteer management to improve strategies and
resources.
Social Fundraising: Manage day-to-day operations for crowdfunding
campaigns, including project selection, website management and reporting.
Identify new opportunities to share the impact of crowdfunding campaigns
throughout the year.
Support the overall Annual Fund and University Advancement initiatives in
order to meet campaign goals, especially related to undergraduate alumni
participation. This includes but is not limited to events such as 1842
Day, Homecoming Weekend, Volunteer Symposium, Senior Class Gift events and
Reunion Weekend. Assist in managing student workers who support Annual
Giving projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business Analytics or
Communication.
Two to four years of experience in digital fundraising and/or marketing.
The successful candidate will have a broad base of general knowledge and
skills in digital technology as well as demonstrated expertise with
current and emerging trends in digital engagement.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills required.
Must be well organized and with strong attention to detail.
Must be confident working with complex data and able to communicate the
significance of data insights.
Knowledge of general office equipment, including personal computers,
Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and understanding of volunteer management and online fundraising
strategies strongly preferred.
Experience with volunteer management preferred.
Experience with Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, Blackbaud
Fundraising Performance Manager and Salesforce Marketing Cloud is
preferred.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Evening and weekend work required in a limited capacity to support Annual
Giving and Advancement events.
