Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Alumni Engagement for duties relative to William Carey University's annual fund and operations of the Alumni Relations office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing William Carey University's Statement of Purpose.
  • Collaborate with alumni director to produce the Carey Magazine.
  • Collaborate with alumni director to identify and cultivate alumni donor prospects.
  • Manage the University's Annual Fund Campaign
  • Recruit and train student callers for annual fund campaign.
  • Manage student callers' work schedules and compensations.
  • Maintain nightly call results for all contacted alumni.
  • Prepare and send annual fund mail-outs.
  • Act as a contact for constituents interested in charitable giving opportunities during annual fund calling.
  • Assist the alumni director with updating alumni records during annual fund calling.
  • Send pledge cards and reminders to alumni when necessary.
  • Assist with state and national Baptist conventions.
  • Assist with alumni events as needed, including collaboration with alumni team for homecoming.
  • Assist with strategic planning for the Alumni Office.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Public speaking skills
  • Proficiency in Fundraising Software
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Raiser's Edge software
  • Event planning experience
  • Physical Demands

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including a computer and 10-key calculator.
  • Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment.
  • Must have ability to lift and carry 25 pounds to assist with Alumni/University events.
  • Must be able to maintain office hours and perform duties in an on-campus setting.
