Job Description Summary

The Assistant Director of International Admission is responsible for new international student recruitment and admission goals. This position reports directly to the Director of Undergraduate Admission and works collaboratively with all Admissions and the International Student Services staffs to achieve enrollment goals. This position is expected to closely coordinate activities with Undergraduate and Graduate Admission, especially on recruiting strategies, outreach, processes, and metrics for success. Specific Duties

Generate New Students : Generate new leads for international recruitment by planning in person and virtual recruitment and outreach events and initiatives.

  • Identify appropriate schools, colleges/universities and organizations to forge pipelines and partnerships and do follow up on referrals.
  • Conduct on-site information sessions, identify in-house marketing channels to market our programs.
  • Build and maintain counselor relationships.
  • Plan and conduct overseas recruitment and outreach
  • Convert prospective students to applicants & follow through to enrolled status.
  • Explain the admission process and US Higher Education system to prospective students and their families
  • Communicate with prospective students about the status of applications
  • Recruit new students by converting prospects to applicants with complete files and enrolled students.
  • Represent the University at community events, fairs, networking mixers, to generate leads resulting in applications and enrolled students.
  • Manage Leads: Track & follow-up with all leads in the form of RFIs, RSVPs, walk-ins or referrals through personal contact and CRM system.

    Respond to the leads:

  • Contact prospective students and invite them to a personal appointment or information session (virtual or in person)
  • Conduct monthly online information sessions for prospective international students
  • Monitor inquiries, application counts, admission status and registration of all new students.
  • Learn how to use Slate, Zoom, and other related technology systems needed for recruitment and outreach
  • Utilize data and conduct data analytics including student conversion ratio.
  • Attend all training on new systems, updates, etc.
  • Maintain and update organization/corporate/ prospect lists and databases in appropriate CRM system.
  • Teamwork/Collaboration: Work collaboratively with admission team to meet recruitment goals for the La Verne campus. Work with the Director of Undergraduate Admission in setting up enrollment goals driven by enrollment projections and develop strategies to achieve them:

  • Participate in admission team meetings and provide updates regarding new student and cohort updates.
  • Work with the Office of Internatioanl Service and Engagement in scheduling and conducting new student orientation each term, in conjunction with campus advisors, to ensure proper academic advising.
  • Partner closely with ELS Language Services for in-person and virtual recruitment opportunities
  • Coordinate with EM Finance Director on agent contracts, MOU and promotional allowance payments
  • Under the direction of the Director of Undergraduate Admission, contribute to the strategic recruitment plan
  • All other duties as assigned by Director of Undergraduate Admission

    Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of international recruitment and admission experience
  • 1 year of experience/familiarity evaluating international transcripts
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Mandarin or Arabic preferred)
  • Public speaking ability
  • Event management experience
  • Knowledge and experience with international travel processes and requirements.
