The Assistant Director, Graduate Programs position within the Sawyer Business School is responsible for ensuring outstanding customer service to all stakeholders. The Assistant Director is cross trained on SBS graduate programs and is a key contributor to implementing the high-quality customer experience process across all SBS graduate programs. Responsibilities include: recruitment and marketing; advising and student services; student engagement; admissions and yield strategies; event management as well as special projects.

The Assistant director reports directly to the Sr. Associate Director/Director of Graduate Programs while working closely with the Academic Directors in support of the MSA, MSF, MSBA and MSM and graduate certificate programs. This role contributes to the University's various Strategic Plan 2025 goals including student engagement/community, integrated education, career readiness, reputation, and student retention activities for new and continuing students.

Preferred experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of experience.
  • Prior experience in a University or College setting in admissions, student advising or managing academic programs advantageous.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to manage multiple reporting relationships.
  • Experience working in a high volume, deadline oriented, customer focused environment with exceptional attention to detail, a high level of responsiveness, and demonstrated follow-up.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be creative and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle difficult situations.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PPT), Zoom and other online collaboration platforms preferred.
  • Standard hours of this position are 9:00am to 5:00pm, M-F, however some nights and weekends required to support program objectives and projects. This is a hybrid position requiring working on-campus as well as remotely.
  • May require travel locally and domestically.
