Job Summary
Responsible for the primary oversight and case management of violations of
University student rules within the University's on-campus housing community
as well as outreach and education to the campus community on various topics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Train, supervise, and evaluate the residential student conduct coordinator
and Residence Directors, providing support and direction in investigating
and adjudicating cases, prevention programming, and reporting.
Investigate, hear and adjudicate violations of University student rules
for the general student population with a focus on violations which occur
within the on-campus housing community. Serves as an Investigator of
allegations of misconduct by students, student organizations, and cases of
discrimination (sexual harassment/assault).
Develop curriculum and content for training of Resident Directors,
including material on the student conduct process and various federal,
state and University mandates, laws and policies to endure compliance.
Provide ongoing training and education for Residence Directors in their
role as Conduct Officers.
Prepare Clery Act information for reports made to Community Standards.
Participate in monthly Clery Act meetings with Legal Affairs and other
campus stakeholders. Participate in Clery compliance training.
Assist in Bi-Annual review of policies. Review and interpret the Residence
Hall Guidelines, Apartment Guidelines, Housing Policies, the UTA Handbook
of Operating Procedures and the UT System Regents' Rules and Regulations
to ensure that all students are afforded due process. Coordinate regular
meetings with Apartment & Residence Life staff to ensure effective
communication and clear direction for the residential student conduct
process.
Generate reports to tracks student conduct trends for Apartment &
Residence Life to guide programming and training needs.
Performs other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a master's degree in higher education,
student personnel services or related field and two (2) years of
professional experience working in Residence Life.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be
substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of experience working
in Residence Life with student conduct/judicial affairs experience.
Experience with program development, case management, and hearing student
conduct cases.
Experience working with college students in a programmatic or advisory
capacity.
