About This Role:
Manage CAPM Graduate Assistants, coordinate budgetary, financial
management, databases, electronic filing, web page maintenance, travel,
coordinate CAPM academic and research, assist CAPM director with other
responsibilities as required.
Base salary compensation can be increased and commensurate with teaching load.
Position Responsibilities:
CAPM Coordinator and Assistant Director – oversee a range of operations including budgetary, financial management, databases, human resources, electronic filing, IT, facilities, web page maintenance, travel, student services, outreach efforts, cardinal perch, contracts, marketing, and grants. Work closely with Director to perform short- and long-term planning and support employees and/or students.
CAPM Research Coordinator – Personally manage CAPM research process and post relevant documents to website.
CAPM Specialized Data base Manager – provide online access to a specialized database with abstracts of relevant research with links to academic and journal publications.
Assist CAPM academic advisor – candidate should be able to assist the CAPM Academic advisor with administrative tasks as needed.
Potential CAPM, Industrial Engineering Professor – if candidate has an MBA/MPA with requisite experience or PhD they could qualify to teach a course on an as needed basis.
Attend maritime industry meetings and conferences – assist director with recruiting and networking at maritime industry meetings that promote best practices and enable Lamar Universities Center of Excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's, master's degree, or PhD is preferred as this may enable
teaching opportunities within CAPM, the Industrial Engineering (IE), or
the business college.
Creative problem solver with proven organizational, coordination,
interpersonal, and team skills.
The Individual must be hard working, energetic, process minded, and
willing to collaborate with others.
Key Competencies:
Strong process and administrative skills to include Microsoft office word,
excel Suite.
Positive and enthusiastic problem solver and team player that is not
afraid to talk to people. Must be willing to communicate with diverse team
members and leverage network to streamline process.
Work with director to drive CAPM academic (master's and certification)
process, and research program.
Ability to create and manage electronic document filing system.
Physical Requirements: No strenuous on-site work is required.
Job Conditions: This is a Lamar University on-site, 5 day a week, 12 month
of the year position.
