Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Academic Development, the Assistant Director is primarily responsible for advising a caseload of approximately 300 students from Questrom's Full-Time and Part-Time MBA Programs. This includes counseling students on their requirements for graduation; communicating with students when there are new academic options as well as scheduling or curricular changes; assisting students who fall out of compliance with the university; communicating academic performance and integrity issues; and assessing requests for credit for external coursework. In addition to Student Advising and Advising Operations, this position will be assigned the responsibility of specialty projects such as supporting the development of Questrom's Global Immersion Travel Courses. As part of a greater MBA Center team supporting MBA students full experience, the Assistant Director, Academic Development also partners with other student experience and engagement initiatives in a support capacity, as needed, and oversees the development of seasonal curricular experiences, such as the MBA LAUNCH (orientation). Finally, this position works with the Questrom Registrar's Office for other registration, audit, and registrar duties, as needed.

Required Skills

B.A./B.S. required, Master's Degree in related field preferred, strong oral and written communication skills, highly organized and the ability to multi- task and five to eight years of experience in counseling, student services or higher education administration. Prior event planning experience preferred. Some evening hours and occasional weekend work required.
