The Dairy Enterprise System is a commodity-based operational unit within the Dept of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences consisting of the Lake Wheeler Dairy Farm, the Feldmeier Dairy Processing Lab and the Dairy Education Center located at the entrance of the Dairy Farm. The individual units participate in Teaching, Research, Extension of dairy sciences and technology while encompassing the farm's production and a dairy processing facility. Outreach to the general public is accomplished through the Dairy Education Center where all components of dairy are highlighted as an educational tool for university students and all aspects of the general population.

Essential Job Duties

The Food Services Supervisor has the shared responsibility of supervising aspects of the Howling Cow Dairy Education Center and Creamery at the Lake Wheeler Dairy Farm.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Serve customers, train new employees, and assist the Creamery Supervisor with scheduling, monitoring inventory, placing orders, supervising team members, customer interactions, and assigning work to team members.

Report directly to the Creamery Supervisor and assist in developing daily creamery operations and new programs.

Oversee compliance and necessary documentation of work procedures and regulatory, university, college, and departmental requirements including but not limited to computer systems and ensuring proper training of employees.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience/Education

High School diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in food preparation or service activities in a commercial kitchen; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Required Qualifications

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

High School Graduation or equivalent.

One year experience in a customer service supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications

At least one year of experience in a food, retail, and customer service environment.

Required License or Certification

A valid NC Drivers License.
