Assistant Baseball Coach

Position Information

Job Description

The Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for all facets of assisting the head coach with building a successful baseball program NCAA Division I level. Duties include on the field coaching during practice and competition; recruiting of quality student-athletes; game preparation; supervision of managers and work study students; fundraising; promotional and public relations activities; knowledge of and compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations; direct and coordinate the planning, organizing, and coaching of the Mississippi Valley State University baseball team; provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes at Mississippi Valley State University; study, evaluate and implement innovations in baseball strategy and equipment; demonstrate professional integrity. May perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or as deemed necessary to aid in efficient operations of the department.

Required Qualifications

Successful NCAA Division I baseball coaching experience as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach with winning programs. Please include 3 letters of recommendation with the application.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications: Master's Degree; Competitive experience as intercollegiate baseball player; Successful Head or Assistant Coaching experience at NCAA Division I level; Ability to recruit in high schools and junior colleges, primarily in Mississippi and the surrounding states; Demonstrated administrative and public relations abilities; Concern for academic and athletic preparation of student-athletes; Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student-athletes, coaching staffs, administration, university personnel, and the general public; Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
