Applications are invited for an Assistant/Associate Professorship (University Lecturer/Senior Lecturer) in the field of Mammalian Embryogenesis and Reproduction to be held in the Department of Physiology Development and Neuroscience. We are searching for a talented individual with a track record in research and commitment to teaching. The post is available from 1st October 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The department offers a world class research and teaching environment with an emphasis on exploring structure- function relationships at different levels of organisation, from tissues and organs to the organismal (https: // www. pdn.cam.ac.uk/research). We particularly welcome applications from individuals with research programmes using whole organism, stem cell or multi-omics approaches to investigate fundamental mechanisms involved in embryogenesis and/or reproduction and pregnancy.
The successful applicants will have a PhD in a relevant subject area and show evidence of leading a successful research programme. Applicants will also have an aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will be expected to contribute to teaching and other academic activities in the Department, and more widely in the School of Biological Sciences, including the design and delivery of undergraduate and graduate lecture courses, examinations and other forms of assessment. The starting salary is dependent on the level of appointment being made, as determined by the Selection Committee. Assistant Professorships will start in the range of £45,585 - £57,696 per annum; Associate Professorships will start in the range of £61,198 - £64,914 annum.
