The Department of Surgery at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Medical Center is excited to announce a search for a cardiothoracic surgeon. The successful candidate will receive an appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor level in the clinical scholar pathway. This position has some flexibility with opportunities for supported clinical research. Interdepartmental clinical leadership roles are also available to suitable candidates. This clinical appointment will come with the expectation that the candidate will fulfill teaching duties and clinical research commensurate with their academic appointment. The candidate will be expected to perform the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery. If desired, there is an opportunity of also performing thoracic surgery based on clinical interest and prior experience.
All applicants must be board certified/board eligible in their own sub- specialty. Successful candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, and eligible to work in the United States. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
