Position Title Assistant/Associate Professor-Pharmaceutics
University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to

The selected candidate will teach pharmaceutics course(s) in the PharmD and
Master of Science in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences programs. This is an

Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University
include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all
matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of
professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.
This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal
regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual
Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the
employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive
information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set
out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.
Teach assigned pharmaceutics course(s) in the PharmD curriculum;
Organize and conduct pharmaceutics laboratory sections;
Participate in teaching and research activities in the master's program;
Provide research rotation experience;
Mentor student(s) in master's thesis research;
Actively participate in school committees;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must possess a strong commitment to teaching excellence and continuing
scholarship with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop individual or collaborative extramural-funded research
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the
University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
PhD in Pharmaceutics or related discipline.
Required Work Experience
Work experience is not a requirement at assistant professor rank.
Post-doctoral research and teaching experience is preferred.
Ability to teach pharmacokinetics and pharmacy calculations is desirable.
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a pharmacy
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Based on course assignment.
