The Department of Biochemistry in the University of Vermont, Robert Larner, MD, College of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level in the Educator-track pathway. The successful applicant will be joining a growing group of collaborative educators to contribute to the momentum of our growing teaching responsibilities in biochemistry. Experience with asynchronous, on-line education is preferred. In addition to teaching, the candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activity in the realm of biomedical science education.

The applicant will be joining an expanding Department with over $35 million in external funding in the last four years. Education is a priority for the Department of Biochemistry and the recruited faculty member will participate in, as well as provide leadership for, departmental responsibilities in undergraduate, graduate, and medical education. Engagement in the Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biosciences programs as well as in the Master of Medical Sciences program will increase departmental capacity and capabilities in the College and University educational missions. Strategic approaches to increase educational offerings and expand enrollment will be priorities. Mentorship will be provided throughout the career continuum and there is an expectation to proactively support diversity, equity, and inclusion. Service contributions at the departmental, institutional, and biomedical research community levels are expected.
