Assistant/Associate Professor of Interior Design
Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Interior Design; Start date –

The Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance at Purdue
University invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time appointment at
the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of Interior Design. The
successful candidate will actively contribute to a diverse culture of learning
by developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate-level design courses in
a CIDA-accredited interior design program, demonstrating a strong record of
research and/or creative scholarship, maintaining accreditation standards,
participating in faculty governance, and engaging in activities that support
the academic and scholarly life of the University. Depending on qualifications
and interest, additional responsibilities may include serving as the Interior
Design Program Coordinator. A commitment to AAU research, including
presentations, grants, publication in peer-reviewed journals, and/or creative
endeavors, is expected.
• A graduate degree in Interior Design, or a related interior design-allied
discipline, from an accredited college or university.
• University or College teaching experience beyond teaching assistantships.
• A well-documented record of research, teaching, and engagement in the design
of interior environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to innovation in the field of Interior Design.
• Experience in developing strategies that increase program awareness and
expand networks with prospective students, organizations, and industry

undergraduate BFA degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree. The program is
committed to helping designers transform the built environment. Using cutting-

society's physical, social, and psychological needs.
The Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance is accredited
by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, the North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Council for Interior Design
Accreditation. The Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance is one of
twelve departments/schools in the College of Liberal Arts.

The College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University is embarking upon 40 faculty
