The Department of Biology at Jackson State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position beginning July 2023

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education

Must have a Ph.D. in one of the following areas: Microbiology and/or Immunology or a closely related field with a minimum 18 graduate hours in field of study to be eligible to teach the courses.

Minimum Required Experience

Must provide evidence of effective and innovative teaching of undergraduate or graduate courses.

Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications

None.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with Post-doctoral research experience, research publication records and successful research grants.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Teaching undergraduate and graduate level Biological Science courses such as but not limited to: Microbiology/Immunology

Advising and mentoring students

Conducting research in areas of expertise

Developing and maintaining a dynamic, extramurally funded research program meeting the Biology research focus

Providing service to the Department, College, University, Community and Profession

Performing other duties as assigned
