Position Summary
The University of Central Arkansas, School of Nursing invites applications for
a tenure track, 9 month appointed, Assistant/Associate Professor position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The faculty member will provide instruction in the undergraduate, graduate
and/or doctoral nursing programs, engage in scholarship/research, clinical
practice activities, and participate in service activities at the
institutional and professional level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Possesses a passion for practice related teaching. Articulates and speaks
authoritatively about the profession and its future direction. Demonstrates
evidence of critical thinking including critique, analysis, evaluation,
synthesis and integration in professional domains. Demonstrates evidence of
publications and scholarly presentations related to advanced practice.
Demonstrates evidence of interpersonal skills, networking abilities, and
intraprofessional and interprofessional collaboration. Demonstrate currency in
nursing knowledge, and use of technology to support teaching and patient care.

Required Education and/or Experience
Doctoral degree in nursing (PhD or DNP). APRN certification and licensure as
a Family Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner
or Primary Care Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Unencumbered RN license
in Arkansas. At least two years of clinical practice experience as Advanced
Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Candidates who are ABD or who have 3 or
less semesters left to complete the DNP will be considered.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Experience with learning management systems and online teaching. Experience
with simulation teaching. Preference is given to candidates that are dual
certified as a Family and Acute Care Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner or
Family and Primary Care Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Additional
preference include educational preparation as a Nurse Educator or who have
experience teaching at the baccalaureate, master's, and/or doctoral levels.
License(s)/Certifications (Required or Preferred)
Compact RN license in Arkansas. APRN certification and licensure as a Family
Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner or Primary
Care Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
