The Department of Languages and Literatures at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position.

General Duties

This position includes teaching courses in World Literature, African American Literature, composition, and other required courses for English majors. The faculty will also work closely with the Department of Education to support males in teaching degree programs, work with the program manager for recruitment and retention of diverse education to develop a network of male teachers, pursue grant writing opportunities to support the departmental priorities, represent the Education Department in state meetings and forums. Special consideration will be given to candidates with strong evidence of undergraduate student research advisement and experience mentoring male minority students at the high school and college levels. Along with teaching and student mentoring responsibilities, this position holds expectations for research and publication in the discipline and service on university and departmental committees.

Required Qualifications

PhD in English Language and Literature

Desired Experience

Demonstrated excellence in teaching; Experience with digital learners; Commitment to digital learning; Second language proficiency and Evidence of innovative teaching practices
