The Department of Computer Science of the University of Texas at Austin
invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions. Outstanding
candidates in all areas of Computer Science will be considered with particular
attention given to candidates working in Computer Systems (including
architecture, databases, networking, operating systems, and security),
Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, and Robotics.
The department, in collaboration with the College of Natural Sciences, is
interested in and values candidates who are committed to building a diverse

The department is ranked among the top computer science departments in the

It has 50 tenured and tenure-track faculty members across all areas of
computer science. Many of these faculty participate in interdisciplinary
programs and centers in the University, including among others the Texas
Advanced Computing Center (TACC), the Oden Institute for Computational
Engineering and Science, Texas Robotics, the Machine Learning Laboratory, and
the Institute on Foundations of Machine Learning (an NSF AI Institute).

All tenure-track positions require a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in computer
science or a related area at the time of employment. Successful candidates are
expected to pursue an active research program, to teach both graduate and
undergraduate courses, and to supervise graduate students in research.
All faculty positions require a cover letter, current curriculum vita,
research statement, teaching philosophy and selected publications. For tenure-
track positions, at least three (3) reference letters are required. For
tenured positions, at least six (6) reference letters are required.
