Faculty Pediatric Anesthesiologists

Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesia, is actively recruiting faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or professor level, on a clinical track with a commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, and/or research. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in pediatric anesthesia.

Riley Hospital for Children is part of Indiana University Health, the largest health care organization in the state of Indiana and one of the largest in the Midwest. Our state of the art 455-bed hospital is the only free-standing, tertiary care pediatric hospital in the state of Indiana. We complete over 25,000 anesthetics per year. Riley Hospital for Children offers the full spectrum of surgical services including transplant. Opportunities may exist to join anesthesia teams covering acute pain, chronic pain, and transplant. Our affiliation with the IU School of Medicine provides numerous opportunities for collaboration, research and teaching. Trainees include residents, pediatric anesthesia fellows, and pediatric cardiac anesthesia fellows. Our team of over 30 pediatric anesthesiologists utilize a care-team model and collaborate with over 20 CRNAs and CAAs. Compensation and benefits are very competitive.

Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health is the only hospital in Indiana that is nationally ranked in US News and Reports 2021-2022 edition of Best Children's Hospitals. It was ranked in 9 pediatric specialties. Additionally, it is Indiana's only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. Riley Children's Health is one of the top 10 sites in the United States for pediatric health research ensuring children's health remains a top priority. In addition, our Cardiology & Heart Surgery and Urology programs are ranked in the top 5 with six additional programs ranked in the top 25. Through enduring collaborations with the Indiana University School of Medicine, Riley Hospital for Children is ranked sixth in the nation for NIH Research funding, totaling more than $32 million in 2020.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate or Terminal degree is required. D.O. or M.D. from an accredited Medical School (or other equivalent credential from a foreign Medical School), with completion of a residency in anesthesiology accredited by the ACGME (or equivalent training). Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in pediatric anesthesia.
