The Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Missouri invites applications for a tenure-track position in Advanced Manufacturing or Logistics at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor levels. Applicants should have expertise in either advanced manufacturing (e.g. bio-manufacturing, Industry 4.0 / cyber-physical systems, micro/nano manufacturing) or logistics (e.g. emerging transport, smart logistics, humanitarian logistics), combined with strong quantitative skills.  Successful candidates will have impactful publications, significant potential (or demonstrated ability) for a sustainable and collaborative externally funded research program, demonstrated leadership ability, capa  ble of successfully mentoring graduate students, as well as developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the areas noted.


Applicants should have an earned doctorate in industrial engineering or related field by the time their appointment begins; the department is seeking dynamic individuals who will provide vision, leadership, and guidance.  The department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

The IMSE Department was founded in 1958 and has a long history of educational and collaborative research excellence in the areas of healthcare, logistics and manufacturing. The department has a strong PhD program and launched a fully online MSIE degree in 2019.
