The Department of Communication Science & Disorders is situated within the
College of Health Science. The Department prepares undergraduate students with
a broad foundation in communication sciences and disorders, prepares graduate
students in speech-language pathology for professional practice, and prepare
students to continue their professional growth beyond their formal education.

This position is responsible for directing clinical education, including
management of the UWM Speech and Language Clinic and oversight of the clinical
education program, which includes i) oversight of student preparation,
compliance and support, ii) oversight of education program development and
compliance, and iii) coordination of placements of students in medical
internships. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational,
interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. In addition, they will also
demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity and equity in the profession
and in academia.
This is a 12-month position. The primary responsibilities of this position
will include management of the Speech and Language Clinic and satellite sites
(25%), planning, implementing and assessing the clinical education program
(62.5%), and department, college and university service (12.5%).
Master's degree in speech-language pathology or audiology
At least five years of professional experience
ASHA certificate of clinical competence and a current Wisconsin state
license in speech-language pathology or audiology or eligible for
Wisconsin state license in speech-language pathology or audiology.
At least one year of experience in clinical supervision and/or teaching in
a university setting.
A PhD in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field
Record of excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving
Demonstrated ability with program administration
