    Buildings and Property Division are the stewards of our beautiful campuses.     The Opportunity

    The Asset Planning Engineer (Mechanical) is responsible for providing strategic and tactical asset management planning in the areas of HVAC, BMS, Hydraulics and Vertical Transport, which ensures the effective development and sustainable operation of building and site services that meet the current and future needs of the University.

    Reporting to the Senior Manager Engineering under broad direction, this position will also establish and maintain design and development controls that maximise the quality and environmental performance of newly constructed or refurbished building and site services.

    We are on an ambitious journey of full campus electrification, the removal of gas infrastructure and Net Zero commitments. You will be instrumental in overseeing strategic design that compliments these sustainability requirements, including the chance to work with and design innovative engineering solutions.

    As the successful candidate you will:

  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to contribute to strategic planning and the development of the University's built environment to meet corporate business objectives and aspirations
  • Lead and manage the delivery and implementation of building and site services planning by taking an optimum customer centric approach
  • Provide expert advice on the management and advancement of quality assurance and controls of building and site service records and design standards to ensure that campus development, infrastructure rejuvenation and servicing deliver on corporate business and sustainable asset management objectives
  • Direct and deliver significant infrastructure planning projects including development of project feasibilities, design review and value management undertakings and exercising strong budget management objectives of the University
  • About You

    As the successful candidate, you will hold a relevant qualification with extensive relevant experience in the development and implementation of asset management of mechanical services. You will be experienced in leading and evaluating initiatives aligned to best practice, as well as leading the systematic measurement and improvement of customer centric work processes and practices to support excellence in customer experience.
