The Asset Management Specialist supports the University Logistics Manager in recording and updating University fixed assets within the University's Inventory Asset Management software system. The Asset Management Specialist also provides logistical and labor support necessary for the removal, moving, and disposing of fixed assets. The Asset Management Specialist must support timely efforts in affixing asset tags to fixed assets and provide the necessary labor to support the survey of physical inventory of fixed assets. The Asset Management Associate also provides operational support to other areas within Procurement Services as assigned by Senior Director or Associate Director.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess:
1) Inventory, math proficiency & computer skills to generate reports from software applications and familiarity with ERP and data entry systems
2) Basic Budget Management Skills
3) Ability to quickly adapt to changing work environments and work well under tight deadlines,
4) Demonstrable experience and an ability to work in a warehouse environment and demonstrate skill in operating typical warehouse equipment and supplies;
5) Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting, physical skills
6 ) Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with students, administration, faculty, staff and outside contacts.
7 ) Customer Service experience highly desirable
Required Qualifications
- Education: Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this job satisfactorily.
- Experience: 1 year clerical office experience.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use Policy.
