About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a well-established Assessment Design Specialist with a technical developer focus, who has expertise in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and can work broadly across all disciplines. You will be making recommendations and implementing strategies for new technologies and assessment designs for the College's suite of programs. These designs include developing online and electronic assessments items across our broad range of pre-bachelor programs.
You will see yourself working collaboratively with a team of curriculum and digital learning specialists in the implementation of key initiatives within the Assessment, Digital Learning, and Learning Analytics Framework and supporting key decisions across the organisation's teaching and learning activities.
You will develop, design, program, and embed assessments and supporting materials based on the understanding, articulation and implementation of best practice. You will be the trusted expert and will provide advice to various stakeholders. You'll also be involved in upcoming innovative projects where you can directly influence positive outcomes for our students and the College.
The position requires a robust understanding of assessment, educational technology, mathematics and programming/scripting for the creation of assessment items. You will be utilising data-driven assessment review, analysis and insights, and will be expected to support and execute a range of internal and external validation and benchmarking activities.

About You
You will either have experience in course writing and developing curriculum and assessment in STEM areas with an interest in developing your software developer skills or you will be an experienced developer with a keen interest in pursuing a career in education assessment.
You will have well developed knowledge (or the ability to quickly obtain) of assessment theories, methods and practices and be able to apply these to assessment and feedback design, development and review. You will have expertise in writing rubrics and writing, vetting and moderating assessment in ways that optimise assessment quality and student performance, experience and engagement.
You will be a natural problem-solver and have a keen interest in designing quality assessments and continuously improving assessment related activities through innovative methods.
You will enjoy building genuine relationships with your stakeholders, teachers and students to co-design assessment and disseminate contemporary assessment practices.
You will have excellent judgement, strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritisation and planning skills with the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
