Position Summary

The SRU Art Department is seeking a full-time instructor for the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year to teach Sculpture and courses in other studio areas as assigned. Responsibilities include teaching and organization/management of three studio courses.

Minimum Qualifications

MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Sculpture or equivalent degree in related field required. Knowledge of traditional Sculpture methods and techniques in addition to expanded media and digital CAD/CAM-3D modeling and printing experience, and the ability to teach such programs in an Art context required. Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration. Commitment to the education of diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

Sculpture experience and prior college teaching experience preferred.

Ability to teach other courses, such as 3D Design and introductory Drawing, are a plus.
