Apprentice Laboratory and Facilities Technician
Full Time/ Fixed term for 2 years
Apprentice Grade 1: £22,631 per annum
Overview:
Join the esteemed #1 Anatomy and Physiology department at the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Laboratory and Facilities Technician. You'll undergo a comprehensive two-year training program, encompassing all aspects of the role through in-house and online learning provided by CSR Scientific Training. By completing a Level 3 Advanced Laboratory Technician Standard Apprenticeship, you'll obtain a Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Applied Science or a Level 4 HNC, supported by CSR's guidance towards achieving Registered Science Technician accreditation.
Responsibilities:
The role involves maintaining laboratory cleanliness and stocks, assisting in record-keeping and preparation of compounds, and supporting building services including Goods In, Reception, and more. You'll collaborate with laboratory and building managers in various tasks.
Candidate Requirements:
To be eligible, you should have attained GCSE standard in English and Maths (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong communication skills are necessary. Additionally, you should demonstrate an aptitude for the skills taught in the Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship Details:
You will undertake a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with CSR Group. The two-year training will take place at the department's facilities in Oxford, with day-release sessions through CSR Scientific Training and occasional travel to Sutton Coldfield for practical elements. Support will be provided throughout the apprenticeship duration.
