The Anatomy Technician for the Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for meeting the day to day requirements of all facilities, functions, and laboratory supplies that fall under the supervision of the CVM Anatomy Program, as well as other teaching areas at Veterinary Medical Teaching and Research Center (VMTRC).

Required Qualifications

A.S. or A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology and/or B.S. in Biological Sciences or related area; a minimum of one year experience as an assistant in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Significant anatomic work experience desired; B.S. in Veterinary Technology. laboratory teaching; and experience with animal cadaver and osteology work.

promote the mission of the Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and the community at large;

reports directly to the Anatomy faculty;

promote effective working relationships among faculty staff and students;

responsible for the overall professional appearance of all facilities and locations associated with the Anatomy Program;

routinely maintains tissue storage and active materials throughout all of the Anatomy Program facilities;

routinely maintains tissue storage and active materials throughout all of the Anatomy Program facilities;

develops and routinely maintains physical laboratory inventory lists; including but not limited to; skeletal and model inventories, plastinates, laboratory supplies (chemicals, body bags, PPE, tools, towels, gloves and instruments), cadaver inventories (fresh tissue, embalmed, other), wet specimen collections, equipment (tables, cameras, computers, etc.) and testing materials;

develops a monthly report to the Anatomy faculty on the inventory lists described;

Job Duty

prepare and repair osteological preps;

Job Duty

schedules a monthly meeting with the Anatomy faculty on any concerns or updates with the lab facilities;

Job Duty

works closely with student clubs and clinicians to procure tissues and required supplies;

Job Duty

assist the Anatomy faculty in development and setup of clinical training workshops;

Job Duty

develop a working knowledge of safety and security in all facilities and be able to communicate this knowledge to students, faculty and staff as a group or individuals;

Job Duty

assist students in the laboratories with non-teaching needs (this includes for example, lifting and moving large and small animal cadavers, meeting equipment requirements, instruments, using power tools for dissection);

Job Duty

assists the Anatomy faculty in plastination projects, maintenance of equipment and laboratory, and preparing prosections;

Job Duty

will help Anatomy faculty in the development of a plastination laboratory;

Job Duty

will work closely with faculty and staff on plastination projects;

Job Duty

be willing to work over and or weekends when needed;
