Project/Unit DescriptionSupport the United States missile defense research efforts performed within the Air and Missile Defense Division (AMDD) of the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL). As part of our Ballistic Missile Defense System Capabilities Assessment team, you will be joining a multidisciplinary group that assesses system performance through analysis of test event data (simulated and collected), focusing on tracking, sensor resource management, sensor fusion, engagement planning, and battle management. Team members use the knowledge they gain through system assessment to assist with resolving design uncertainty in system integration. The work for system assessment and system integration is impactful and helps improve and advance missile defense. As an Algorithm & Analysis Engineer, your responsibilities could include algorithm evaluation, data analysis, data management, documentation review, and tool development.
Job PurposeResponsible for the development and support of state-of-the-art algorithms involving to data fusion, sensor fusion, machine learning, manned/unmanned avionics improvement programs, and genetic programming. Algorithm engineering focuses on the design, analysis, software/hardware implementation, optimization, profiling and experimental evaluation of computer algorithms, bridging the gap between algorithm theory and practical applications of algorithms in software engineering. Statistical analysis of multi-modal and time-varying data to characterize and quantify system qualities and deficiencies, resulting in recommendations and development of improvements.
