The Wellness Center provides medical, health education, and counseling services using a multidisciplinary approach to assist Loyola students in the process of becoming aware of, taking responsibility for, and making choices that directly contribute to one's well-being and that of the common good. The services offered by the Wellness Center focus on the student as well as the student's role in the community. Applications are encouraged from all individuals who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and pluralism.

- Assesses campus-wide needs for health education by collecting and analyzing student data. - Uses a public health approach to plan, implement, and evaluate theory/evidence based, innovative programs that focus on individuals and the environment. - Recruits, selects, trains, and supervises a thriving peer health education program. - Develops health communication messages and social marketing campaigns. Manages delivery of health promotion messages in person and through social media and websites. - Facilitates cooperation between and among levels of program personnel and volunteers outside agencies and the Wellness Center. - Organizes relevant in-service training programs for volunteers and/or personnel. - Communicates health and health education needs, concerns, and resources. Refers students, when appropriate, to campus or community agencies. - Manages projects on a variety of health topics, including but not limited to alcohol and other drugs. - Seeks grant funding through appropriate resources; drafts and oversees grant proposals. - Performs additional responsibilities as required. - Therapy dog on site.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Master's degree in Public Health or degree in related field More than two years of direct health education experience working with the college student population or in a higher education setting. Certified Health Education Specialist or a willingness to obtain certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses

Certified Health Education Specialist or a willingness to obtain certification is preferred.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat) and social media platforms, as well as a willingness to learn web content software.
